Successful 2009-2010 Fundraising Campaign Results

The generous support of our CGA families and friends in our fundraising efforts from R-Day and Parents Weekend Halloween Treat Bag sales enabled our Chapter to present the Alumni Association with a $4000 donation to the Project 44s for Luders and a $1000 donation to the General Parents Fund! The Chapter was also delighted to be able to give each firstie a keychain of their 2010 crest.

Holly Ball

The Chapter’s biggest challenge of the year was the hosting of the 32nd annual New England All Academies Holly Ball held at the Seaport Boston on December 26th. It was the most attended Ball in recorded history with just under 400 attendees! Co-Chaired by Greg and Jeannette Watka and Brenda and Bob Beal, the event was a huge success. Kudos to Elaine Buckley for designing the decorations, and her staff of one, Kathy Pray, for decorating the ballroom. Our guest of honor was RADM Joseph Nimmich, Commander of USCG District 1, and the guest speaker was CGA’s own Capt Glenn Sulmasy.
Next year’s Holly Ball will be hosted by the New England Chapter of the USAFA.

Cookie exchange

Our chapter and the CT Capt Paul Foye chapter once again hosted the annual “cookie day” event in December.  The baking response was overwhelming and a great day was had by all who participated.
