to order by Ed Collins at 1:15 PM, December 6, 2009.
o Treasurer’s report and
Fall 2009 meeting minutes were distributed to attendees
o Introduction of attending
officers and members
• Secretary’s Report – J. Constantino
o A review of the meeting minutes
from September 25, 2009 was made by John Constantino.
o Report approved with changes.
o Revised report will be submitted
to chapter site webmaster for posting
• Treasurer’s Report – R. Wright
o Starting Balance (9/23/09)
$3,494.50
o Ending Balance (12/5/09)
$5,454.16
o Have added 3 new members from
Class of 2013.
Dues
income during period: $225.00
o Ways & Means Sales income
during period: $2,444.00
o No outstanding expenses to note.
• Ways & Means Report – B. Stark
o Reported sales were good for
Parent’s Weekend
o Need to replace stock prior to
R-Day at an approximate cost of $1,200
o Need to have a volunteer to take
over position. Would like to have someone for R-Day for training and
then take ownership of duties
• All-Academies Ball – N. McElroy & M.
Greendyk (submitted by T. Geendyk)
o CGA and Merchant Marine Academy
to sponsor AAB this year and are responsible for raising funds for the
event
o Preparations by AAB committee
are in progress
o Invitations have been sent out
o Due date for RSVP is 12/15/09
o Each cadet to receive a $35 gift
card
o Donations can be made to DVASABO
and mailed to M. Greendyk
• Swab Welcome Picnic – B. Atwell (not in
attendance)
o Dates for event need to be
determined; either last weekend in May or first weekend in June
o Again hoping to have it at the
Atlantic City Air Station
• 2010 Class Gift for Graduates – J.
Constantino
o Presented gift idea of solid
pewter letter opener at a cost of $49 each
Item can
be seen in USCGA store catalog (M. LaHart & Co.) page 14, item no.
07093. Will investigate adding engraving of class of 2010 to existing
USCGA seal
o Projected count of graduates is
13. E. Collins to contact CGA to confirm count so correct number of
gifts can be ordered
o J. Constantino to contact vendor
about a volume discount and cost of engraving
o Meeting attendees voted to allow
a $700 budget for the gift
o When order is ready to be placed
J. Constantino will notify R. Wright to make payment
• Update on Challenge 44 / National Parents
Association – Ed. Collins
o CGA wants to purchase 11 Luders
for cadet training at a base cost of $750,000 each
o National Parents Association
agreeing to purchase 1 boat and fund over an 11 year period
o Considering using the quarterly
donations from parents to help fund Luder purchases. Final decision not
yet made
• Other Business Items
o E. Collins to review current
member e-mail lists for accuracy
o Suggestion to do a direct
mailing to members to make sure chapter has the correct member
information and ensure members are aware of DVPA activities
o Officer elections to be held at
April meeting
o Decision on annual donation to
CGA will be discussed at April meeting
• Next planned meeting will be at US Coast Guard
Station, Cape May, NJ on a Saturday in April. E. Collins to contact
station for available dates and the availability of a
presentation being done during
meeting
