• Review and approve minutes of last meeting (1/27/08). All in favor.
• Last treasurer’s report reviewed. No changes in balance since last meeting—no new funds collected, no expenses incurred/submitted.
Voted that there would be no
contribution to the National Association because of the upcoming
expense of the AA Ball, R-day social,
and Chapter welcome. Approved. All in favor.
• Ways and Means:
Vihonski’s stepping down. Bill & Jeanine Stark assuming
the chair. Discussion about license agreement fees for items sold
by W & M.
• Welcome Picnic. Arrangements by Charlene Delanoy. June 1, 2008 at CG Air Station-Pomona NJ. Will begin with Q& A.
As of May 10 there were 12
planning to attend. There may be more as offer letters are still
going out from CGA. Volunteer list for food. (Also open to
prospective cadets).
• Pre R-Day Social.
Arrangements by Dave & Mary Yoder. Approximately 500 attended
last year. Made arrangements with ARA Food Service for simplicity.
Will coordinate with Chesapeake & Potomac Chapter Parents Association.
• All Academies Ball.
Arrangements by Nina McElroy. When CGA hosts we will do so with
Merchant Marine. Date for this year’s ball: December 28,
2008.
To be held at the Union League in
Philadelphia. Suggested that ‘save the date’ cards go
out. Agreed to donate $500.00—must research as to where
this is sent.
Gift cards as favors for the
cadets was OK (but they varied in dollar value). This year USCGAPA
suggesting cash donations so that gift cards can be purchased in like
increments.
Donation approved. All in favor.
• R-Day and Parents Weekend. Arrangements by Lorraine Kauffman. USCGAPA pre-reserved local hotels for families and guests.
